What We Did

The rebuilt front porch is the first thing you notice at 240 Kennedy, and it changes how the whole house sits on its street.

The before photograph was taken in winter: dark, weathered siding, a tired porch, a house that read as empty even with snow softening it. The after shows the same frame house with fresh pale-green siding, new windows, and a completely rebuilt porch and deck in new lumber, with stairs and railings that will pass inspection and hold up to Pittsburgh weather. A porch is a small thing on a budget sheet and a large thing on a block; it is the part of a house that faces everyone else, and rebuilding it properly tells the street the home is cared for again.

Inside, damaged floors and walls gave way to finished, neutral rooms ready for a family to make their own. The interior photograph shows a bright bedroom with new carpet, fresh white walls, a restored fireplace surround, and a ceiling fan, simple, durable finishes chosen to last rather than to impress a camera.

Kennedy is a good example of the middle of our range: not a gut rehab like Parkview, not a single-room repair, but a whole-house refresh that took a tired property and made it move-in-ready. It sold the way all of our homes sell, at or near what it cost us to buy and renovate, to an owner-occupant family, because the point of the work is the family in the house.

Every project here started with someone telling us about an empty house.
